We get vaccinated during childhood and often assume that protection lasts a lifetime. But that’s a misconception! As adults, many vaccines are no longer sufficiently effective. Time for a vaccination update! Here’s what you should review.
Some vaccines have an expiration date or are newly recommended. Once you reach a certain age, it’s worth checking your vaccination booklet.
These are the vaccinations you should check:
- Diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough – refresh every 10 or 20 years depending on age and health status
- Measles, mumps, rubella – catch up if not vaccinated in childhood
- Pneumococcal – recommended for people with chronic conditions and everyone aged ≥ 65
- Tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) – booster recommended every 10 years
Vaccination Check in the Well App: Your Options
You can book a telemedical call-back for a vaccination check or self-assess your protection status using a questionnaire. You’ll need your vaccination card to complete the questionnaire.
💡 Tip: Enter your health insurer and insurance model in the app. Health insurance often covers the cost of the vaccine.
